Should they actually go through with this travesty and collosal waste of money. In the day there used to be a restaurant chain called Victoria station that used freight cars as dining rooms. They would have I think 4 or 5 of them with a central area connecting them, and you’d eat your meals in the former train car, (though I don’t recall there being any windows). Perhaps they could make a restaurant out of the non longer used trolleys?
trolley-themed froyo shops. each froyo serving is priced based on customer income, the rich subsidizing the poor. outside is a 3D motion simulator of a flipping SUV, fun for people of all ages. hosts and hostesses exposing themselves are at every entry and exit.
will the 3d thing also display people goatse’ing and throwing molotovs?
why would the trolley fail? it’s the most traveled bus line in the area, right? and the trolley is replacing it? and people like trolleys more than buses, and south arlington is undergoing a redevelopment boom. seems like success is fairly likely.
make it into a very narrow nightclub that picks up people up and down columbia pike. FLIP FLOPS AND POPPED COLLARED POLOS ARE NOT ALLOWED

Come one, novesteve, where’s your entrepreneurial spirit? Obviously these could be repurposed into smoking sheds. No more smoking on your back stoop in the cold – invite your friends over and smoke in style.
I don’t think the trolley will fail at all, nor do I think that it is a “collosal waste of money”. I think I’d be wasting my breath trying to argue the benefits of the trolley on this site, I mean god forbid South Arlington gets any development!
Though I really like the idea of a rolling, smoking-allowed indoor restaurant/nightclub…maybe they can do that after public transport stops, to generate more money, maybe give some of the profits to WMATA for their never ending track work
SERIOUSLY wtf is with the columbia pike walter reed bus stop…
We still have a local hamburger shop called “Ollie’s Trolley.” http://www.olliestrolleydc.com/
Used to have one in Arlington, see this old thread: http://www.arlnow.com/topic/old-school-arlington-question/
Why not “Zimmy’s Greased Palm“?
“CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! went the trolley;
CLINK! CLINK! CLINK! went the bribes … ”
