Tailor recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good tailor in the area (NOVA/DC)? I'm looking specifically for someone who can do significant alterations to men's suits. Thanks!

Steven the Tailor in 2000 Penn- corner of 21st and I. Sort of underneath Lindy's Red Lion.  i used them for a not so challenging alteration and it came out OK.  I might stay tuned for a more profound recommendation form others, however.

Sofio in McLean is suppose to be one of the best based on my research, probably going to him for my next suit.

If you need a quick fix the lady in the Ballston mall is pretty good, I got the waist tucked in a lot on a suit jacket and she did a great job.

Agreed. The Kims are awesome. I have had two men's suits altered there and they were spot on each time.

Reed's Custom Tailor on Lee Hwy near George Mason Drive is OK. The guy has done a decent job tailoring my suits, though he charges a lot (and acts like he's giving you a discount when he's overcharging you).

Millie's (On Glebe road just north of Lee Highway) is a fantastic tailor for alterations. The alterations are done upstairs (which is the right-hand door of the building). Cleaning and pickup of alterations is at the cleaners which is on the lower level (left-hand entrance).

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I'll post a reply after I choose one and get my suit back.

Have you had any suits made by him? if so, do you know what his approximate price range is?

    Thanks!

How much did you pay? I took one there for what I thought were fairly minor alterations — pulled the jacket in a little, tightened the seat of the pants — and came away paying $180.00. Seemed exorbitant to me.

If anyone has any other thoughts on reliable tailors, please share.

I'll second Reed's. I got a suit jacket brought in and had the sleeves shortened up and he did a good job. I did find his prices quite high for what was done though. I'm going to try Millie's as well for comparison.
