Yes Steve, and when the senior members of the Democratic party (not the “democrat party”- that’s a silly, childish slur) decided Civil Rights was the way to go, the racist and white supremacist Democrats of the time (like Strom Thurmond) changed to Republicans. The Democratic party became the party of Civil Rights, and the Republican party thereafter adopted the Southern Strategy, and decided to benefit politically from white southerners resentment of government enforcement of equality for black folks.
Did you really not know all this?
Steve appears to have an 8th-grade education, and mentality. But what’s really annoying is that when you explain his mistakes to him, he ignores it. He just says the same crap later.
Steve, here’s the deal with your “double standard” argument – you can’t complain about it if you have a double standard too. You go around bashing liberals while excusing conservatives all the time. In fact, you pull out the double standard argument AS A WAY of excusing the conservatives! It’s like a child’s game. It’s like a kid getting in trouble for eating cookies before dinner and pointing to his brother and saying “well, he did it too!”
So, Steve, you follow every law in Leviticus to the letter? Just wondering.
Maybe novasteve would care to respond, but…..
Many people who argue issues do so only to state their beliefs and have no intention of listening to others and considering their arguments. Instead, they usually only listen just enough to know which counter-argument to apply from their standard list of counter-arguments. As there are a limited number of counterarguments, they quickly become repetitive. If one would engange in discussion, they might construct new counter-arguments, but that would require looking at issues from various viewpoints.
I suspect that some people post simply to raise the hackles of others. I for one am past having my hackels raised. I reply and chuckle, but only after carefully considering the opposite or different viewpoints expressed. You see, I am perfect.
