Why You Should Vote for Libby Garvey:
Here is the unedited response from Rob Krupicka:
My name is Rob Krupicka, and I started this campaign with the simple idea that we need new ideas in Richmond. I’m tired of the politics of blame that we see everyday in Washington D.C. I’m tired of the same old finger pointing and partisan bickering that takes us backwards. I’m running for Senate because Northern Virginia deserves a leader who will reject the politics of blame, and work tirelessly to produce results.
Here is the unedited response from Adam Ebbin (typo corrected at 6:20 p.m. upon request of the campaign):
The question before voters in the August 23 Democratic primary for the 30th Senate District isn’t about policy or politics. With three solid Democrats running, there’s very little difference between our positions on major issues. Instead, the question voters must answer is, “who can best get the job done in the Senate?”
Here is the unedited response from Alfonso Lopez:
My name is Alfonso Lopez, and I’m running for Delegate to uphold our community’s values in Richmond.
Here is the unedited response from Stephanie Clifford:
I have lived in Virginia’s 49th District for nearly a decade and am a proud member of this community. I am a mother, small business owner, and a proud Democrat. I am running for the House of Delegates because I care deeply about our community, and I want to ensure that our shared community values continue to be heard in Richmond.
On the surface, it doesn’t appear that much progress has been made on the project since then. We spotted a small construction crew working on the big patch of bare ground in front of the AMC movie theater and the county government building yesterday afternoon, but it’s not clear what exactly they were doing.
Residents, needless to say, aren’t happy with the state of affairs.
The restaurant is taking the place of the now-shuttered Mackey’s Public House on 23rd Street, between Crystal Drive and Jefferson Davis Highway. The official word is that the restaurant will open in “late summer,” but ARLnow.com projects a later fall or winter opening.
According to the Washington Business Journal’s Missy Frederick, owner and restaurant veteran Chris George is planning to spend $750,000 renovating the 5,500 square foot space into a proper barbeque joint, complete with a large outdoor patio.
On Monday, the new “Seoul Food” truck will have a “soft opening” at an undisclosed location in Arlington. The truck will serve “Korean fusion” food, including Korean-style maki rolls (vegetarian maki, caramelized kimchi maki, spicy tuna maki) and bibimbap bowls, according to its Twitter page.
The ingredients used to make the dishes include “local beef from grass-fed cows, organic tofu, all-natural chicken and ingredients from local farms,” according to the truck’s Facebook page.
The suspect, seen here in a surveillance photo, has hit eight banks in Montgomery County, two banks in Alexandria and one bank in Arlington.
The Arlington robbery occurred on Dec. 14, at the BB&T Bank at 2947 S. Glebe Road. The suspect passed a note to a teller implying he had a gun, but no weapon was seen.
As a reminder, several major highways in Virginia will be shut down this afternoon to accommodate more than 1,800 motorcyclists participating in the America’s 9/11 Foundation Memorial Ride.
Among the highways expected to be shut down in Arlington during the ride this afternoon are eastbound I-66 and Route 110. The bikers’ ultimate destination is the Double Tree Hotel in Pentagon City, where they will be holding a street fair with a performance by country music artist Aaron Tippin from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight.

Former Delaware U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell joined the Northern Virginia Tea Party organization for a small rally at Fort C.F. Smith’s Hendry House in Arlington this afternoon.
O’Donnell, promoting her new book “Trouble Maker,” told the audience that the Tea Party movement should not “take the bait and respond respond in anger” to attacks by the “not-so-nice liberal media.” If they can “rise above it,” O’Donnell said, the Tea Party can bolster its image as “a middle class movement” instead of “the angry extremists that they’re accusing us of.”
