Today: Nationwide Emergency Alert Test

by ARLnow.com November 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm 1,610 5 Comments

The first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will be conducted at 2:00 this afternoon.

The test will be broadcast via radio and TV stations and cable TV providers, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is coordinating the test.

“An audio message will interrupt programming indicating it is a test,” Arlington County advised earlier this week. “When the test is over, regular programming will resume.”

Maybe they should give jobs to the OWS people to be around a TV at 2 PM since they obviously have nothing better to do?

I was watching TV and listening to the radio in Fairfax and it never came. I waited about 15 minutes before going back to work. Did anybody see/hear it in arlington?
