Arlington Pet of the Week: Lily Blue

Our Arlington Pet of the Week this week is Lily Blue, a Cavachon who has a knack for sporting the best costume at parties.

Even at the the ripe old age of 11, Lily still enjoys a good game of tug-of-war every now and then. Here’s what Lily’s family had to say about her:

Lily Blue is an 11 year old Cavachon, a mix between a Bichon and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She has been a part of our family since she was eight weeks old, when she was small enough to hold in your hands.

Lily may not be the biggest dog, but she enjoys acting like the protector of the family whenever the doorbell rings. The facade quickly fades away and she takes a liking to anyone offering a scratch or a belly rub. Though she is an older dog, she still has the energy of a young pup and loves to go on walks and chase the squirrels in the backyard.

She gets along especially well with children and doesn’t mind being dressed up in costumes for all occasions. She still has a soft spot for a good tug-of-war game, but she is just as happy taking a nap on the porch with our dad. She always likes to be near the action, laying under the table at dinner, curling up on the top of the couch for movies, or playing the field in family wiffle ball games. And you can be sure if there’s cooking going on she’ll be laying by your feet hoping to earn herself a little treat for good behavior.

The Arlington Pet of the Week is sponsored by Dogma Bakery, which has locations at The Village at Shirlington (2772 S. Arlington Mill Drive) and the Lee Harrison Shopping Center (2445 N. Harrison Street).
