Arlington Pet of the Week: Gunner

Becky's Pet Care

This week’s Pet of the Week winner is Gunner, a Shiba Inu puppy who spends his time convincing other dogs to chase him at the Clarendon dog park.

Owner Julie had this to say about her pup:

Gunner is a 15-pound Shiba Inu puppy living in Courthouse. He is named after Gunner Stahl from D2: The Mighty Ducks. Gunner was born on Valentine’s Day and has been stealing the hearts of the people of Arlington since he moved here in May.

This puppy is incredibly social and loves going for walks around Arlington. He makes lots of friends along the way, which means a 10 minute walk always turns into a 20 minute walk as he tries to play with every person and pup who walks by. Gunner is extremely affectionate and loves giving kisses. He’s great with children, probably because they’re small like he is.

Gunner’s favorite activities include chewing things, finding the best sticks in Quincy Park to bring home, eating snowflakes as they fall, and running around crazy at Key Elementary School. He is a frequent visitor to the Clarendon Dog Park where he spends most of his time coaxing other dogs into chasing him in circles.

Gunner has been loving the cold weather. He gets to romp in the snow, lick icicles, and slip and slide down the hill in Rosslyn. He loves his winter coat but could do without his boots. He can’t wait until the next snow day where he’ll get to play outside all day long!
