Arlington Pet of the Week: Catsby

Becky's Pet Care

This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Catsby, who’s as great as the literary character she’s named after.

Here’s what Catsby’s owner, Steve, had to say about her:

Born in Falls Church, the Great Catsby moved to Arlington when she was six weeks old.  Although her name evokes gin fizz-soaked Jazz Age parties and gregarious flappers, in fact Catsby is quite shy.  It took her a while to feel comfortable with people.  While she can be skittish around those she doesn’t know, usually she hops up to sit with her family and neighbors.  She especially loves her human brother’s girlfriend, who is studying to be a vet.

She likes chicken and rice cat food, playing with laser pointers, and settling down on newspaper.  She can sit on the top of the armchair in the sun room and watch birds for hours.  Most of all she enjoys long naps on the bed in the master bedroom.  If a laundry bin is left on the floor, sometimes she pees in it, but we can’t be perfect.

What makes Catsby awesome is that she kept all of her family happy during the year her diplomat human dad spent in Iraq.  Whenever anyone in her human family felt lonely, Catsby jumped up next to them and kept them company.  Her human family loves her very much.
