Guest companies, world class live music, family-friendly premier and the debut of new work highlights Jane Franklin Dance’s fall concert series at Theatre on the Run. Whether you are looking for fun for the whole family on a Saturday afternoon, or want to find magic on a Saturday night, Theatre on the Run is the place to be.

Matinees feature the family friendly “Splatter,” inspired by the book “The Color Monster” by Anna Llenas. Mixed up emotions are sorted and compared to colors and feelings associated with color. Each show opens with performances by local youth groups: Virginia Ballet Company and Local Motion Project.

The evening “Mix It Up” highlights guests Light Switch Dance Company, Emily Crews and Rachel Luebbert. Jane Franklin’s “For and Against” with live music by Mark Sylvester, arises from the notion that “opposites attract” and a little tension is a good thing. With simple body language, pushing, pulling or refusing to interact, a dialogue propels bodies in confrontation or sets individuals on a singular course. Forty+ performs a new work by Kelsey Rohr, a groovy piece reminding us to have fun and let go.

Shows are November 9, 16 and 23 at Theatre on the Run, 3700 South Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington VA.
