Each season, Bowen McCauley Dance Company (BMDC) produces the MOVE ME Festival in partnership with Kenmore Middle School. The annual gathering brings together local artists and dance companies to share their art through interactive workshops and performances on two stages. We open our doors to kids of all ages and their families for an afternoon of indoor fun, dance, music, face painting, balloonists, prizes and a few surprises from the main stage.
The Festival is FREE and there is something for everyone from traditional ballet, hip-hop to hula, yoga — it’s all here at the MOVE ME Festival. Kenmore M.S. has plenty of free parking and is accessible by public transportation.
Take advantage of the extra day in February and be sure to visit the main stage for a culminating performance between the Kenmore M.S. student dance residency and BMDC’s professional Company dancers!
Our mission is to entertain, educate, and inspire by making contemporary dance accessible to all, through our professional performances and community outreach activities.
We thank our 11th Annual MOVE ME Festival sponsors, The Washington Forrest Foundation, The Nora Roberts Foundation, Community Foundation of Northern Virginia, JBG Smith Cares, Dallas Morse Coors Foundation, Nirschl Orthopaedic Center, Washington Nationals, Safeway, Arlington Arts and the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
