Region’s 117 Unveils Spring Menu

Region’s 117, Northern Virginia’s hottest farm-to-table restaurant, nestled in the Shenandoah Valley at Trilogy at Lake Frederick, just 90 minutes outside of Washington, D.C., has unveiled a new spring menu highlighting in-season, locally sourced ingredients from area farms.

“Our menu is built around the freshest ingredients grown nearby, so we need to change it up regularly to reflect the changing seasons,” said Executive Chef Brian Whitson. “As a bonus, that keeps our menu fresh and our customers coming back for something new.” Among the new offerings are sage and butternut orecchiette with wild mushrooms, pancetta and mascarpone cream; bucatini Bolognese with beef, pork and veal; and fire-roasted stir fry with sugar snap peas, broccolini and baby bok choy.

Region’s also offers a wide selection of white and red wines from wineries ranging from Front Royal to Charlottesville. Located on site at Trilogy at Lake Frederick, an exclusive 55-plus resort-caliber community, the restaurant has views of the picturesque 117-acre Lake Frederick and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley. Unlike other active-adult communities run by homeowners’ associations, Trilogy at Lake Frederick and its lifestyle programming are run by a resort management team to provide a top-quality experience.

The 36,000 square-foot Shenandoah Lodge where Region’s 117 is located was designed to mainly serve as the social and activity hub for the 55-plus community, bringing active-adult residents together with fine food and wine from the greater Virginia region, but it is also open to the public.

In 2017, Region’s 117 was named one of the 100 most scenic restaurants as well as one of the top brunch spots in America by Open Table in 2017. It was also the recipient of the Diners Choice award this year for Best Food, Best Overall and Best Value, adding to its already long list of dining accolades.

“We love all of our seasonal menus, but spring is the most fun because there are so many fresh vegetables and fruits to build dishes around,” added Whitson. “Along with the impeccable views from our veranda, the menu is an inescapable reminder that spring has finally come.”
