The Spiggle Law Firm, which focuses on discrimination due to pregnancy and other family care issues is joining with Mindful Return, a program aimed at parents returning to work after parental leave, to co-host its popular Parents at Work podcast each month.
Since its launch in 2017, Parents at Work has tackled a number of top issues for working parents, including how to get more sleep, how to balance entrepreneurship with parenthood and how to improve your productivity so you can spend more time with your family.
Starting this month, the podcast is focusing on parents in different industries or professions, with separate conversations featuring several mothers and several fathers discussing their experiences. It will be co-hosted by Tom Spiggle, founder of the Spiggle Law Firm and a former federal prosecutor, and Mindful Return founder Lori Mihalich-Levin, a regulatory lawyer.
“Lori and I both found that parenthood profoundly affected our work lives,” said Spiggle. “I left my high-stress job to start my own firm, while she started Mindful Return to help other parents make the difficult transition back to work. Those experiences have given us a helpful perspective for digging into these issues.”
The Spiggle Law Firm focuses on workplace law, helping protect the rights of clients facing pregnancy and caregiver discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination in the workplace in the greater D.C. area, including Maryland and Virginia.
Mindful Return is an online program for parents returning to work after having a baby, which includes e-courses, a weekly newsletter, in-person retreats and social networking opportunities.
“We are both constantly looking for new ways to engage with working parents on difficult workplace issues and the general challenges of balancing work and life,” added Spiggle. “Co-hosting the podcast is a great way to engage with other working families and share their insights with a larger audience.”
