This community post was written by Prologue Theatre and underwritten by The Fred Schnider Investment Group/Fred Schnider Gallery of Art and Embracing Arlington Arts supporter Annie Sweeney.)

When we had to pivot to a new way of presenting our summer play, Bike America by Mike Lew, our team at Prologue Theatre envisioned a series of events to bring the elements of the play to life — virtually — for our audiences.

Anyone can join us, for free, to experience any or all of the following:

  • A Reading of the play streaming online.
    • Join our next live reading on Saturday, August 8 at 2 p.m.
    • Our feckless heroine Penny is looking to bring more meaning into her life, find a lifestyle that suits her and a town that feels like home so she embarks on a cross-country bike trip from Boston to California, stopping in big cities and small towns along the way.
  • A team based, fitness experience.
    • Register to join us anytime through August 22 as we virtually follow the exact route traveled in the play. Walk, run or bike (indoors or outdoors) and add your miles toward our team’s 4,000 mile journey.
  • A travel log of the cross-country journey.
    • Join us on our Instagram page as we share highlights from each of the fifteen cities along our route.
