The Arlington Host Lions Club in concert with National White Cane Day will be collecting donations at the White Cane Day Fundraiser on Saturday October 17 from 9am – 2pm at the Harrison Street Safeway and the WestOver Market. The funds raised from the event go to aide the blind in training for use of white cane and in awareness of the issues faced by the blind.

This is an annual nationally designated day celebrating the significance of the White Cane and the independence it affords visually impaired and blind individuals

A selection of hymns sung by the audience, led by organist, pianist, composer and conductor, David Cherwien, Cantor of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and Artistic Director of the National Lutheran Choir, who will be joined by the Resurrection Adult Choir and instrumental and vocal soloists, with reflections by liturgical scholars Gail Ramshaw and Gordon Lathrop.
Supported by the Music at Resurrection Series, this is the concluding event in the year-long observance of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Resurrection Lutheran Church.
