Courageous Leadership: The 2019 District 27 Spring Conference

Crowne-Plaza Crystal City-Washington

1480 Crystal Drive

Arlington, Virginia 22202 Map

Event Info

The social event of the season, the 2019 District 27 Spring Conference, takes place the weekend of May 3-4, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City-Washington D.C. The hotel is located at 1480 Crystal Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22202. For the lack of a better phrase, it behooves you to be there!

We know the #1 reason you like to attend a Toastmasters Conference. It’s not the great speakers on tap like the Immediate-Past President of Toastmasters International, Balraj Arunasalam, DTM; Walter Anderson from Anderson Consulting & Training; and Drew Fingall, this year’s recipient of the District 27 Communication and Leadership Award. It’s not the always entertaining District 27 Evaluation Contest and the motivating District 27 International Speech Contest. And finally, it’s not the Hall of Fame, Silent Auction, Fellowship, Stewardship, Networking and/or Culinary Ambrosia.

There is just one reason and one reason only that every Toastmaster in the National Capital Region likes to attend a Toastmasters Conference… the always touching, moving, and inspiring District General Council Meeting. Can you feel it?

The 2019 District 27 Spring Conference Organizing Committee (SCOC) is working diligently to ensure this Conference meets and/or exceeds your expectations. The Crowne Plaza Crystal City-Washington knows how to support a Toastmasters event, having hosted two previous District 27 Conferences as well as a Hail and Farewell.

The hotel’s location is in the geographical center of District 27 in Crystal City (Arlington) Virginia. The location is two blocks above ground from the Crystal City Metro Station (Blue and Yellow Lines). It’s easily accessible by car from D.C., Maryland and Virginia. You can park in the hotel garage, but we recommend you park in one of the cost-free parking garages in the Crystal City Business District and walk to the hotel. So how can you not attend?

Our honored guest, Balraj Arunasalam, is from Sri Lanka. If you are from Sri Lanka or know of someone who is (Toastmaster or not), we would like to do something special for Balraj at the Friday night event, so we need help and ideas to do this up right. So please have the person(s) contact me.

So, don’t delay! Please take advantage of the Advanced Early Bird registration at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/courageous-leadership-district-27-spring-conference-2019-tickets-55847813313?aff=ebdssbdestsearch.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference!

Yours in Toastmastering…
