Arlington Event Calendar
REACH for Uganda is a nonprofit based in Arlington, Virginia, committed to creating healthy, educated and hope-filled communities in rural eastern Uganda. Our cohesive programs function as building blocks that give both our students and these communities their best chances for independent and sustainable successes. Our annual gala is on Thursday, Oct. 28 at The Columbus Club in Arlington from 6-10 p.m. This event is our biggest fundraiser, and our proceeds are dedicated to supporting girls’ education and student access to technology — our most critical needs in Uganda today. This year’s event will feature an evening with live music, stand-up comedy, a captivating keynote speaker, an open bar with plated dinner, and silent and live auctions.

The National Chamber Ensemble (NCE) is thrilled to announce the return to live performances at Gunston Arts Center’s Theater 1 for the opening of the 15th season on Saturday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m.
The Season opens with Enchanting Elgar, The English Romantic. With the support of the British Council NCE is programming music of Great Britain for the first time and will pay tribute to the most famous English composer with a premiere of one of his most famous compositions in a chamber ensemble setting.
Sir Edward Elgar’s music still has a resonance which chimes precisely with the difficult times and challenges we now face. As it is very inspirational, speaks of courage, determination, fair play and high moral purpose, things which there is a great need of today.
