This month’s Acoustic Cafe features three acts: DJ Powell, Jorge Serafin, and Gus Guthrie & Tom Stamp.
*DJ Powell* plays high intensity folk–a combination of originals and covers including stuff by The Pogues, Neil Young, and Dolly Parton.
*Jorge Serafin* is a classical guitar player, who mixes rumba, flamenco, mariachi/Mexican, tropical and samba, giving the classical guitar a true sound of melodic music.
*Tom Stamp and Gus Guthrie* started playing music together when they were teaching on the same third grade team over 20 years ago. They found they had a lot of repertoire in common, and just liked the way their voices sounded together, so they’ve been doing it ever since.

The Acoustic Cafe is a free community concert series of newcomers and accomplished players that takes place at Walter Reed Community Center. The center is a beautiful green building in south Arlington. The cafe is officially part of the county’s 55+ Program, but folk of all ages may play and attend.
