“Small-up to create the best possible life on less income”
Elizabeth White, author of “Fifty-five, Underemployed and Faking Normal,” is an aging solutions advocate for older adults facing uncertain work and financial insecurity. For the millions of people in their fifties and sixties who find themselves out of work, unable to find a job, and financially incapable of retiring, here’s a practical plan for getting past any blame or shame, overcoming denial, and finding a path to a new normal. In “55, Underemployed, and Faking Normal,” Elizabeth invites you to join her in looking beyond your immediate surroundings and circumstances to what is possible in the new normal of financial insecurity.

This event is part of the Arlington Public Library’s AC Works!, a month-long series focused on experienced workers, culminating in a job fair in partnership with Arlington Employment Center for workers aged 50+ on September 23 at Central.
