The Arlington Rotary Educational Foundation is holding its annual Fundraiser Banquet on Thursday, April 20th at China Garden Restaurant, 1100 Wilson Blvd in Rosslyn. Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA) will be the keynote speaker. This year’s events include awards for an $8000 scholarship to a graduating Arlington High School Student, an $8000 stipend to a graduating student of the Arlington Community High School, and $2000 in support of a graduate of the Arlington Academy of Hope School in Uganda.
The scholarship is competitively awarded based on merit, community service and financial need. Last year’s winner was Callie Randall of Washington-Lee High School. The stipend is competitively awarded based on merit, perseverance/work ethic, and educational goals. Alejandra Fernandez of Arlington Community High School won last year.
The cost to attend is $50 per person (half is tax deductible) which includes a multi-course meal served family style. There will also be a silent auction featuring special baskets and items from our sponsors. Parking is free. The event begins at 6 pm with social hour and dinner at 7pm.
