Join Gen. Mark A. Milley, the 39th Chief of Staff of the Army, for a special “Salute from the Chief” Twilight Tattoo program to recognize three Americans for their outstanding service in support of the United States Army. The “Salute from the Chief” program is scheduled for 6 p.m., on Tuesday, May 23, at Whipple Field on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va.
This special Twilight Tattoo will recognize and award Mr. John Chambers, Executive Chairman of Cisco System; Ms. Elizabeth Dole, Chairman of Elizabeth Dole Foundation; and Ms. Meghan Ogilvie, Chief Executive Officer of Dog Tag Bakery; with the Outstanding Civilian Service Award. The award is the third-highest public service honor the Army can bestow upon a civilian. Gen. Milley will make brief remarks about each of the recipients during the ceremony. The show is FREE and open to the public and no tickets or pre-registration is required.
Twilight Tattoo is an hour-long, live-action military pageant featuring Soldiers from The 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” Experience a glimpse into American history through performances by The U.S. Army Blues, vocalists from The U.S. Army Band Downrange and U.S. Army Band Voices, The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, and The U.S. Army Drill Team.
