Come join the Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department at 3900 Lee Highway to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our firehouse – the oldest in Arlington – on Saturday, July 20th.
Festivities will kick off at 10am with a parade through the Cherrydale neighborhood, followed by an open house celebration from 11am-3pm including special guest speakers, fire truck tours, firefighter demonstrations, a 1920’s themed dance party, history displays, and even a chance to squirt the fire hose (weather permitting)! Afterwards, games of “basket bingo” and silent auctions for prizes donated by local business will be held from 3-7pm. All proceeds will go towards preserving the historic firehouse for another 100 years.
Event parking will be available nearby at St. Agnes Catholic Church until 3pm. Bus stops for ART route 55, as well as WMATA 3Y, 23A, and 23T are also within walking distance. Learn more by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
