Dance Asia is presenting the Third Annual Colors! Holiday Showcase on Saturday December 8, at Thomas Jefferson Auditorium 125 South Old Glebe Road, Arlington, VA at 7:00 p.m. There will be a mini holiday market starting at 6:00 p.m. prior to the performance to commemorate the holiday season.

This year’s program features thirteen groups and over sixty performers – the largest number of participation since the show’s inception. The diversity represented is comprehensive –East Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia & the Pacific. Other featured guest performers are from Latin American and European Heritage. Showcase highlights include Ritualistic Combat; Afro Latino Asian Troubadour; Spinning Plates; Flying Ribbons, Faceless Marionettes and much more.

Colors +Dancers =Infinite Possibilities – Dance Asia’s Colors! series is a fresh avenue to stage creative heritage performances. The objective of this project is to encourage heritage performers to embark on a continuous creative journey. Artists present synergetic pieces based on the color given to reflect their tradition, heritage, culture, identity & experience through the spirit of that particular color. “Dance Asia Colors does more than entertain…, it actually educates! 2012 participating groups include Ancient Rhythms Dance Company, Compania Del Bouffon, Dance Asia Alliance, Fairfax Chinese Dance Troupe, Fil-Am Heritage Dance Ensemble, Hulala, Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute, Mongolian Dance Ensemble, Pachamama, Natyabhoomi School of Dance, Rumah Gadang, Silk Road Dance Company and Ta’ata Roiroi.

The event caters to everyone – tickets are FREE and can be reserved in advance at www.danceasiacolors2012.eventbrite.com. Donations are welcome.
