Encore Learning Lecture

Arlington Central Library
1015 Quincy Street
Arlington, Virginia 22205

Encore Learning will present a lecture on “The Embattled Vote in America: From the Founding to the Present” on Monday, February 25 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Arlington Central Library.

Allan J. Lichtman will discuss his newest book about past and current battles to secure the right to vote. His book details the founders’ failure to provide federal protection for the conduct of elections. This has led to ongoing battles between political parties to structure local election laws to gain political advantage.

Mr. Lichtman, Professor of History at American University, has extensive experience with voting rights issues, including assisting in the investigation of voting irregularities in Florida in 2000.

The event will be held at the Arlington County Central Library located at 1015 N. Quincy Street.

The public is invited. The program is sponsored jointly by Encore Learning and the Arlington Public Library. For more information call Encore Learning at 703-228-2144.
