Major League Quidditch Comes to Arlington

Thomas Jefferson Community Center

3501 2nd St S

Arlington, Virginia 22204

The Washington Admirals are hosting a three-game series against their division rival, the Boston Night Riders, at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Quidditch is a mixed gender, full-contact sport played by over 500 teams in 26 countries. The rules were adapted from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter book series, which debuted 20 years ago last month.

Today, quidditch is on its way to becoming a professional sport. MLQ, a national league that runs from June 1 to Aug. 31, is home to 16 teams across the United States and Canada.

Washington is an up-and-coming team in the league. The Admirals defeated New York in a three-game series for the first time on July 1.

The Admirals are looking for an even bigger upset against Boston. The Night Riders are the defending league champions and have never lost a game.
