Mother’s Day Concert: Music of Our Time- National Chamber Ensemble

Arlington’s own National Chamber Ensemble season finale celebrates musical compositions inspired by theater and film. Featuring star clarinetist Julian Milkis (the only student of Benny Goodman), virtuoso pianist Carlos César Rodriguez, and Ensemble Artistic Director violinist Leo Sushansky, as well as the stunning choreography of Lucy Bowen McCauley.

Enjoy the John Williams/Gardel’s famous Tango “Por Una Cabeza”, featured in the movie Scent of a Woman and performed by the ever popular Bowen McCauley Dance, selections from Schindler’s List and Nigel Hess’ gorgeous “Fantasy” from the British film Ladies in Lavender.

National Chamber Ensemble and Bowen McCauley Dance present the world premiere of “Dreamers” by A. Shor. The collaboration between BMD and NCE presents another spectacular exploration of music and dance,

The repertoire also includes Alexander Goldstein’s “Trio on the Roof,” recalling the themes of the smash musical Fiddler on the Roof. Julian Milkis will present the Washington DC premiere of renowned composer, Gyia Kancheli’s “Miniatures – Music of The Cinema”
