On Saturday, December 16 at 7:30 PM the National Chamber Ensemble welcomes the Holiday Season with Holiday Cheer! at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington. NCE’s holiday concert will bring classical masterpieces and holiday favorites together for the whole family. NCE’s Outstanding Young Artist Achievement Award – piano competition winner performs.
Renowned soprano Rebecca Littig, who has sung leading roles at La Scala in Milan, Vienna State Opera, Washington National Opera and London’s Covent Garden joins NCE to sing music of Vivaldi and more. Ms.Littig will charm with the performance of a rare Vivaldi masterpiece, the Motet: O qui Coeli Terraeque Serenitas.
Fifteen year old pianist Junliang Li, the 2017 winner of the National Chamber Ensemble Outstanding Young Artist Achievement Award will make his debut performing the music of Ravel and Chopin. Don’t miss hearing this fantastic young musician.
A group of young violinists will also come together to perform Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins in A minor.
The program will also feature music of Bloch, Dvorak and Strauss, as well as holiday favorites such as Leroy Anderson’s Sleighride, a Hanukkah Fantasy, favorite carols and more. The concert concludes with a Carols Sing-Along to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Celebrate the season with NCE artists and special guests in this exciting program!
