The St. Andrew’s Players Present “The Secret Garden”
Adapted from the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett by Erin Detrick
A time-honored classic, “The Secret Garden” is the story of two indulged and neglected 10-year-olds. They are miserable souls from different worlds who are lonely, self-pitying, and demanding. Eventually, the children discover each other and the value of friendship, compassion, and hard work from the humble folk with whom they share their “secret.” Yet, it is the garden itself — positively growing and changing thanks to the care they provide — that allows them to “blossom” as well.
“The Secret Garden” is produced by special arrangement with Stage Partners (yourstagepartners.com).

We invite you to join us for an extraordinary evening of music at our Season Finale, “Concerto Celebration”! Enjoy several masterworks as NCE performs two famous concertos in an intimate chamber music setting, opening with a delightful work by Chevalier de Saint-Georges’, affectionately dubbed the Black Mozart. The program also showcases Mendelssohn’s celebrated Violin Concerto in E Minor, featuring the artistry of our artistic director, Leonid Sushansky.
“Astonishing . . . extraordinarily gifted.”
– The New York Times
Concluding the evening is Beethoven’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 5 “The Emperor,” featuring the dazzling virtuosity of pianist Carlos César Rodríguez.
“Compelling to watch as he is to hear.”
– The Washington Post
NCE artists performing May 18th are: Leo Sushansky (violin/artistic director), Carlos Cesar Rodriguez (piano), Najin Kim (violin), Hanbing Jia (violin), Uri Wassertzug (viola), Steven Honigberg (cello)
Don’t miss this unforgettable conclusion to the NCE season.
From the classical to contemporary compositions, the National Chamber Ensemble’s internationally-acclaimed musicians provide outstanding performances of chamber music in an intimate setting. The NCE brings together composers, musicians, performers and audiences to create an environment that is fun, welcoming, engaging and offers the connoisseur, as well as the first-time concertgoer, an exciting musical experience.
