Superstar Family Fun Day and Mason Mile
6th Annual “Mason Mile” and Superstar Family Fun Day: A community turning grief into action
The sixth annual Superstar Family Fun Day and Mason Mile Run/Walk will take place on Sunday, October 6, from 4–7pm at Key Elementary School, 2300 Key Boulevard, Arlington, VA. Rain or shine! The “Mason Mile” will start at 4:30 pm. This is a FREE community event, with optional donations to benefit Key School and the Mason Leach Superstar Fund at Children’s National Medical Center.
Superstar Family Fun Day will consist of outdoor activities for the whole family, music, snacks, and the main event – the “Mason Mile”, a one-mile road run/walk on Key Boulevard.
The Superstar Family Fun Day and “Mason Mile” are held in the memory of Mason Leach, a five year-old Key School student who passed away from brain cancer in 2007. This event is sponsored by the Key School PTA Wellness Committee and the Mason Leach Superstar Fund. This event celebrates Mason’s life and encourages children to be active both physically and in their community.
To help others battling cancer and other illnesses, the event will also host a blood drive for eligible donors. The Inova Blood Mobile will be on site. To set up an appointment for that afternoon go to inova.org/donateblood and use Sponsor Code 8021 or call 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372)
