The Americas: Music for Flute, Viola and Harp
In this free concert IBIS Chamber Music presents music from our neighbors to the north and south. An engaging trio of flute, harp and viola will perform works by Canadians Ben Steinberg and Milton Barnes, US composers Katherine Hoover and Robert Beaser, and Argentinian Astor Piazzolla, including traditional Jewish melodies, tangos and American folk songs.
Principal players from the Kennedy Center Orchestra (flutist Adria Sternstein Foster and harpist Susan Robinson) and Chiara Dieguez on viola will perform.
This free concert takes place in the lovely sanctuary of the Clarendon United Methodist Church at 606 North Irving Street in Arlington, just 5 blocks south of the Clarendon Metro stop. Street and lot parking available. The program is suitable for older kids. Please join the artists for a post concert reception.
IBIS is a 501(c)3 non profit. This concert is free, and your goodwill donations are welcome.
Our next free event takes place on Sunday, February 23rd, at 4 pm at the Lyon Village Community House, and features work by composers who immigrated to the US.
