Local Dining App’s 22 Arlington Restaurants Make Collaborative Donation to AFAC

Arlington, VA – July 23, 2015 – It’s called a Spotluck Potluck and it’s making a difference by feeding families in Arlington.  Here’s how it works: Spotluck, the popular local dining app, asks each of its 22 partner restaurants in Arlington to donate a tray of food to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). The results are overwhelming. Once Spotluck and AFAC teams visit each location tomorrow to collect the donations, there will be enough food to feed over 150 people. The meals will be served tomorrow night at the Gates of Ballston Community Center.

The Spotluck app helps restaurants collaborate to market their neighborhood, so it’s a natural extension for the restaurants to also collaborate and make a greater community impact. The Arlington Spotluck Potluck is the third such event for the year-old company. Previously, food from Spotluck’s Bethesda restaurants helped feed families at The Children’s Inn at NIH and The Fisher House at Walter Reed Medical Center.
