Hot Diggity Dog — In honor of National Chili Dog Day, Hard Times Cafe is giving away a free chili dog to everyone with every purchase from opening until closing. Yes, simply buying a soda counts as a purchase.

Rabbit Food — Salad and sandwich restaurant Rabbit holds its grand opening in Clarendon today.  After filling up on your free chili dog, stop by 3035 Clarendon Blvd for a free cupcake from 4-8pm.  One per person.

What Next? — First planking took the internet by storm, then owling.  Now, apparently all the cool kids are batting. And of course, some guys in Arlington claim to have started it. [WTOP]

      Haters gotta hate.

      • Rosslynite

No sense of humor? I’m stepping out for a smoke.

        • V Dizzle

          Smoking’s bad for you.

          • Rosslynite

One day at a time. I already gave up the hot dog monkey on my back. All this rain in Donaldson Run gives me the blues. Smoking cheers me up.

Bring an umbrella if you’re going to be anywhere near Donaldson Run.

Any “naked bat” photos available for sharing? I think I’d enjoy those.

  • I just like the photos on this website – another great one.

    • Josh S

Yeah, I agree. Whoever is taking them or selecting them has quite the eye. Bravo.

I don’t know… today’s image is way too large, and they are opening in separate pages now rather than in series.

      Good selection, bad execution…

  • BerryBerryCold

I’ve never heard of planking, owling or now batting except for these “news” websites. I’m looking at you WTOP. I couldn’t explain one from the other, nor do I care.

The newest craze is shark jumping. Eyyyy!

    • Yakov S.

In Soviet Union, shark jump you.

  • TryTheTacos

Forget batting. Leisure Dives are the thing: http://www.leisuredive.com/top-dives/

  • BerryBerryCold

Anyone stop by rabbit? How are the cupcakes?

    • John Fontain

My wife said she just did. Said the cupcakes were great (good icing). Similar in size to Bakeshop’s. Line wasn’t too long. About 3 minutes.
