Middle school student facing weapons charge for BB gun

A middle school student who allegedly brought a BB gun to school is facing a potential weapons charge.

The incident happened Wednesday morning after school administrators found a BB gun and called police.

“At approximately 9:35 a.m. on April 24, police were dispatched to Thomas Jefferson Middle School to the report of found property,” Arlington County police said today in a crime report. “Upon arrival, it was determined school administration located a BB gun in a student’s possession on school property. Responding officers took custody of the BB gun and petitions for the juvenile are pending for Possession of a Weapon on School Property.”

Last year a Thomas Jefferson Middle School student was charged with bringing an airsoft gun to school. Another TJ Middle student was charged with attempted robbery and weapon possession for an alleged attempt to rob another student of his shoes in a bathroom, while armed with a knife.
