Arlington Public Library’s fall book sale begins today

The Arlington Public Library fall book sale is back for a few days of bargain book deals.

The booster group Friends of the Arlington Public Library is holding the event in the Central Library parking garage at 1015 N. Quincy Street, offering thousands of books, games, puzzles and comics for sale. It will start with a “members only” event this afternoon and opening to the public tomorrow morning.

Specialty books, which include full sets, first editions and signed books, will be sold separately in the Central Library’s Quincy Room.

A list of dates and times is below.

  • Thursday, Oct. 3: 4-8:30 p.m. This will be a “Members Only” night for Friends of the Arlington Public Library. Applications to join the group are available online.
  • Friday, Oct. 4: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 5: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 6: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Teachers and librarians who bring school identification will receive a 50% discount from Friday to Saturday, while all customers get 50% off on Sunday.

Visitors are asked to take the Metro or park in the lots surrounding the library, as the Central Library parking garage will be in use. Proceeds from the sale support the Arlington Public Library’s programs and collections.
