Arlington high school sports schedule for Nov. 8-14

Arlington high schools have a much less busy and shorter week of sports action ahead, with final regular-season football games and playoff events for a few teams as the fall season has ended for a number of squads.

There will be one football game Friday night (Nov. 8)  between the host Wakefield Warriors and Washington-Liberty Generals in an all-Arlington showdown. The Bishop O’Connell Knights and Yorktown Patriots play Saturday (Nov. 9).

The ice hockey season continues for Washington-Liberty. Bishop O’Connell and Yorktown prepare to begin their 2024-25 campaigns in coming days.

FRIDAY, NOV. 8

Ice Hockey

• Washington-Liberty vs. West Potomac, at Prince William Ice Center, 6:40 p.m.

SATURDAY, NOV. 9

Football

• Washington-Liberty at Wakefield, 11 a.m.
• St. Paul VI Catholic at Bishop O’Connell, noon
• Yorktown at Herndon, 1 p.m.

Girls Volleyball

• Bishop O’Connell in Division I state private school championship match at The Steward School, noon

TUESDAY, NOV. 12

Field Hockey

• Yorktown in Class 6 state tournament quarterfinal game in Stafford, TBA
