W-L wins four-team Arlington County wrestling match

With a 3-0 record, the Washington-Liberty Generals won this season’s Arlington County wrestling meet between the jurisdiction’s four high-school teams.

The Generals defeated the Bishop O’Connell Knights, Yorktown Patriots and  host Wakefield Warriors.

At 2-1, Yorktown was second with wins over O’Connell and Wakefield, which was third at 1-3. O’Connell finished 0-3.

“I was just really happy they [Bishop O’Connell] came. It made for a true Arlington championship,” Wakefield coach John Leinberger told ARLnow.

O’Connell has not always participated in past seasons because of scheduling issues.
