Arlington varsity basketball players chosen to all-region teams

A number of players from Arlington were selections to all-6D North Region girls and boys basketball teams for their performances during the 2024-25 high-school season.

Boys players chosen to the first team from Yorktown High School were junior guard Jake Coulam and senior guard/forward Brennan Pilot. Yorktown senior forward Jack Rubin made the second team.

Those three helped Yorktown finish first in Liberty District regular-season standings and earn the top seed in the district tournament and an automatic berth into the region tourney.

Wakefield Warriors’ junior guard Jeremiah Poole was chosen second-team all-region. He helped Wakefield earn the third seed in the Liberty District tourney, followed by a berth into the region tourney.

Three Arlington players were chosen to the girls second-team all-region.

From the Washington-Liberty Generals, senior guard Frances Shapiro earned that honor along with sophomore guard Kathryn Wagener. Yorktown junior guard Eleanor Mahshie also made the second team.

Washington-Liberty finished second in the Liberty District standings, then runner-up in the district tourney. W-L and Yorktown each earned berths into the regional tournament.
