Where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Arlington and Falls Church: Pubs, music and more

Irish pubs throughout Arlington and Falls Church are gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day festivities — some with week-long celebrations in store.

From parties with live Irish dancing and specials on Jameson to a Clarendon bar crawl, here are some nearby destinations where you can toast “sláinte” next week, leading up to Monday, March 17.

Courthaus Social

When: Friday through Monday

All-weekend drinks specials feature $8 Guinness drafts, $10 Jameson pours and $14 “Irish car bombs.” The restaurant is also offering meal specials with $10 Guinness stew, $11 reuben rolls, $16 reuben sandwiches and $18 shepherd’s pie.

Ireland’s Four Courts

When: Saturday through Monday

A weekend of live music, Irish dancing and Premier League games is planned for St. Patrick’s Day. The restaurant will have heated outdoor seating tents and host live entertainment all weekend. A wide selection of Irish whiskeys and beers are available at the bar.

Ireland’s Four Provinces

When: Friday through Monday

The Falls Church mainstay will host live music throughout the weekend. It opens 8 a.m. Monday for a “kegs and eggs” event, followed by outdoor patio dining all day long. Reservations are required for St. Patrick’s Day meals in the dining room, which include a fixed menu with classic Irish fare, like potato and leek soup, corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie and Guinness stew.

‘Leprechaun Lap Bar Crawl’ in Clarendon

When: 3 p.m. Saturday

Drink specials, live entertainment and party favors are all part of this Clarendon bar crawl. Participating establishments include the Clarendon Ballroom, Hyde Social, Mister Days and The Renegade. Tickets are available starting at $15 on Eventbrite.

McNamara’s Pub and Restaurant

When: Friday through Monday

This Crystal City pub is hosting a three-day St. Patrick’s Day party with a DJ, live music and drink specials all weekend. This month’s Irish-inspired food specials include $15 corned beef egg rolls, $17 raspberry-and-brie grilled cheese sandwiches and $20 shrimp and grits.

O’Sullivan’s Irish Pub

When: Friday through Sunday

O’Sullivan’s will host live music by D.C.-area groups like Twenty Dollar Prophet, Run For Cover and The Leftovers. Rugby fans can also watch matches all day Saturday while ordering Guinness and other Irish libations from the bar.

Samuel Beckett’s Irish Gastro Pub

When: Tuesday through Monday

The longtime Shirlington establishment is hosting an entire week of St. Patrick’s Day activities, starting with Irish trivia on Tuesday. It will also offer drink discounts, live music and rugby matches throughout the week, culminating in an all-out celebration with Irish dancing on Monday.

The Celtic House Irish Pub & Restaurant

When: Thursday through Monday

Five days of celebration at this Columbia Pike pub include live Irish music and dancing and specials on Jameson. Guests can take home branded Jameson glassware from a “Steal the Glass” event in the pub’s downstairs whiskey bar on Thursday and attend an Irish buffet brunch on Sunday. Performances through the week feature singer Tom McCuin and District Irish Dance. Reservations are encouraged.

When: Friday through Sunday

The Water Park in Crystal City will offer limited-time “shamrock sours” made with Jameson and Kelly green-hued margaritas from Water Bar and Crush Pizza and Wine.

Celtic Rhythms and Irish Cheer in F.C. 

When: 4 p.m. Tuesday

A lively, family-friendly St. Patrick’s celebration with food, refreshments and performances from the O’Neill James School of Irish Dance is planned at The Kensington senior living building.

700 W. Broad Street

Derek Warfield concert with Knights of Columbus

When: 7 p.m. Thursday

Irish singer Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones will perform a concert hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 2473. D.C.-area Celtic rock band Poehemia will open the show at 7 p.m., and dancers from the O’Neill James School of Irish Dance are set to perform during set breaks. The night includes raffles, drinks and light refreshments. Tickets are $40.

Saint Paw-Trick’s Day

When: Noon on Saturday

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue wants to help guests find their “furry lucky charm” next weekend. The organization is hosting a dog adoption event on the patio at Quincy Hall in Ballston, and the bar plans to offer drink specials.

Free sober rides all weekend

The Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) will offer free, sober Lyft rides from 4 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday through Monday. D.C.-area residents can request a free ride home by entering a promotional SoberRide code into Lyft’s “Payment” tab under the “Add Lyft Pass” option. The code, available for one-time use during the weekend, covers rides of up to $15, and it will be posted at 3 p.m. Saturday on www.SoberRide.com.
