When it comes to home swimming and diving meets during the summertime’s Northern Virginia Swimming League seasons, Arlington will be a busy place for a little over a month starting in mid-June.
The four Arlington pools in the league each have both swim and dive teams. Those squads will combine to host 22 home meets, starting Saturday morning, June 14 with swimming competition.
The swim meets are all Saturday mornings beginning at 9 a.m. The dive meets are Tuesday evenings with 6 p.m. starting times. The diving season begins June 17.
Arlington Forest, Dominion Hills, Donaldson Run and Overlee will combine to host 12 home diving meets. The same four will host 10 swimming meets.
The regular seasons consist of five swim and dive meets each.
Dominion Hills will host the most regular-season home swimming meets with three. The other three squads will host two each. In postseason action, Donaldson Run hosts the Division 1 divisional relay competition.
In diving, Arlington Forest, Donaldson Run and Overlee each host three meets, with Dominion Hills having two. Overlee will host the postseason divisional meet in Division I.
There will be two all-Arlington meets in the top division, in both swimming and diving, between Donaldson Run and Overlee.
The diving meet will be Tuesday, July 15 at Donaldson Run. The swim clash is set for Saturday, July 12, also at Donaldson Run.
Two weeks of post-season divisional and all-star competitions follow the regular seasons.
