Arlington Palooza returns next month with live music and family activities

Moon bounces, live music and food trucks are coming to Arlington next month as a free outdoor festival makes its return.

Arlington Palooza is happening from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, offering all-day music performances and family friendly activities at the Lubber Run Community Center and park at 300 N. Park Drive.

There will be artisans and activities

  • Kids activities inside the community center include a storytime, light show, dance lessons and “animal encounters.”
  • A street vendor market will feature several local artisans and businesses, including Ethnicitees, LLC and Red Mosaic Jewelry.
  • Some Arlington-based businesses, including Sugusto and the Rossana coffee truck, will provide refreshments.

DuPont Brass is headlining

  • The “eclectic soul” ensemble, performing at 2:45 p.m., started as a brass quintet at Howard University. Their sound is influenced by jazz, hip-hop and roots and blues.
  • Other Palooza performers include Wicked Game, an Arlington acoustic guitar rock duo, and Jack Doll, a cover musician from Cherrydale.
  • Performances begin at 11 a.m. with D.C.-area vocalist Brigette Johnson.

Spots can be reserved on Eventbrite. People interested in volunteering should email [email protected].
