The schedules and division assignments are set for Arlington’s two teams in the upcoming 2025 summertime’s Colonial Swimming League.
The Arlington Knights of Columbus Holy Mackerels will compete again in the highest Red Division of the 24-team, four-division league.
The Holy Mackerels finished second in the division to the Ashburn Village AquaJets of Loudoun County last summer with a 4-1 record, after winning the title the previous two summers with records of 5-0 and 4-0. The team’s overall 13-1 record the past three seasons is the best league-wide.
Arlington’s Fort Myer Squids will swim in the White Division, where they finished in a three-way tie for second with a 3-2 record last summer. The winning record was the Squids’ first since 2019.
Each team swims five regular-season meets on Saturday mornings, then postseason divisional and individual all-star meets. There also is a league-wide all-star relay carnival squeezed among regular-season meets.
The Knights of Columbus open the season at home Saturday, June 14 at 8 a.m. against the Armfield Farm Stingrays of Chantilly.
Fort Myer opens on the road in Sterling against the Cascades Rapids on that same June 14 date at 8 a.m. All five of Fort Myer’s meets are on the road.
Since they are in different divisions, Fort Myer and the Knights of Columbus do not meet in regular-season action.
The league-wide all-star relays are Sunday, July 13 at Sugarland Run pool in Sterling at 8 a.m. The league’s season-ending Cory Young all-star meet is Saturday, July 26 at 8 a.m. at Ashburn Village.
