With warmer evenings ahead, free, outdoor live music and movies are coming to Clarendon this spring and summer.
The Clarendon Alliance’s concert series, Music by the Metro, began last week, while a movie series hosted by George Mason University kicks off this Friday.
Free concerts are on Thursdays this month
- Concerts are from 6-7:30 p.m. at Clarendon Central Park. Mama Moon and the Rump Shakers are performing this week.
- Next week’s artist is Kiti Gartner & The Drifting Valentines, a D.C. band playing “Western swing, rockabilly, old country and some jump blues.”
- Veronneau, a husband-and-wife duo performing jazz and swing, is playing on May 22.
Movies are at 3351 Fairfax Drive
- This Friday’s screening of “Mamma Mia!” begins at 8 p.m. at the Mason Square Plaza. There will also be a digital game of bingo.
- The next movie, “Singing in the Rain,” is scheduled for Friday, June 13.
- Later this summer, GMU will show “Little Shop of Horrors” on July 18.
