LIVE: Election results for governor, attorney general and other races affecting Arlington

As election results roll in tonight, ARLnow will be tracking the outcome of races affecting Arlington and Virginia as a whole.

Three of the highest offices in Virginia are on the ballot this year, as are three seats representing Arlington in the House of Delegates.

Abigail Spanberger (D) and Winsome Earle-Sears (R) are competing for the governor’s seat, while incumbent Jason Miyares (R) is seeking to defend his position as attorney general against challenger Jay Jones (D). Meanwhile, Ghazala Hashmi (D) and John Reid (R) are each seeking to become lieutenant governor.

All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates are also on the ballot this year. Representing Arlington, Democrat incumbents Patrick Hope (D-1) and Adele McClure (D-2) are facing off against Republicans William “Bill” Moher III and Wendy Sigley, respectively.

Del. Alfonso Lopez (D-3) is also up for re-election, running unopposed.

After the state’s polls close at 7 p.m., the results of all six races will be updated in real time below, courtesy of the Associated Press. Local results for the Arlington County Board and School Board races will be posted elsewhere on ARLnow.
