The starting quarterbacks at Arlington’s four high-school football teams have received all-league honors, rewarding their strong performances during the 2025 fall season.
Three of those players passed for more than 2,000 yards, the other for nearly 1,000. None were starters for any of the Arlington teams in 2024, yet they made a big impact in their initial season.
Of the four, Samson Schneider of the Yorktown Patriots earned the highest accolade. Schneider was chosen first-team all-Liberty District on offense after leading Yorktown to the league championship with a 6-0 record.
In 11 games, the senior passed for 2,080 yards and 21 touchdowns and ran for another 299 yards and five TDs. In 245 attempts, Schneider threw just three interceptions.
“Samson was an accurate passer all season,” Yorktown coach Alec Hicks said of Schneider, who is headed to Division III Denison University in Ohio next fall.
Junior Judah Connor of the Wakefield Warriors was chosen second-team all-Liberty District. He threw for 2,291 yards and 18 touchdowns and ran for 190 yards and two scores. Connor helped Wakefield win three games, the team’s most in a single season since the 2021 campaign.
Of the four Arlington quarterbacks in 2025, Connor attempted the most passes, with 284 in the Warriors’ pass-oriented offense. He also threw for the most yards.
Selected honorable mention as quarterback in the Liberty District on offense was senior Tyler Flint-Steinig of the Washington-Liberty Generals. He threw for 2,214 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games. His 180 completions were the most for an Arlington quarterback.
Flint-Steinig led W-L to a 7-4 record and 6D North Region tournament playoff berth.
Senior quarterback Ryan Turpin of the Bishop O’Connell Knights passed for 824 yards and six touchdowns despite missing a game and a half with injuries. Turpin was a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference second-team Metro Division selection on offense.
Of the four Arlington quarterbacks, Turpin attempted the fewest passes (137) in 2025.
On defense for Yorktown, lineman Bobby Shea was chosen as the district Player of the Year. Shea was a big force up front for Yorktown in all 11 games, as opponents struggled to block the senior. Shea made 31 tackles, of which 11 were for losses, with six being sacks.
