Free art festival returns to Clarendon next week with over 125 artists

The Arlington Festival of the Arts is returning later this month in Clarendon, bringing over 125 exhibitors in a variety of mediums.

The outdoor art festival will be back for its 12th year on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 at 1051 N. Highland Street, near the Clarendon Metro station. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m., local and national artists will showcase original pieces in an all-ages, pet-friendly art walk.

“Visitors can expect to be impressed by a diverse range of artistic mediums, including sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography, mixed-media, painting, and much more,” an event description says.

This year, the event will also include “a craft market with practical art, including original home décor, soaps, artisanal breads and more original works of functional beauty.”

This week’s heat wave is expected to be well over by the time the festival arrives. Highs in the 60s and 70s are currently in the forecast.

DETAILS: The exciting event benefiting the Clarendon Alliance takes place in the heart of the Clarendon district with all artists and craft artisans on-site throughout the duration of the festival to discuss the process and inspiration behind each piece. The one-of-a-kind outdoor art walk is all-ages and pet friendly. Ample parking is available.
