ACPD: Suspects stabbed employee, threw rocks at Ballston business

A pair of suspects were arrested last night (Wednesday) after reportedly throwing rocks at a business in Ballston and attacking an employee who confronted them.

The suspects, aged 20 and 19, were seen throwing rocks shortly before 8:10 p.m., according to a preliminary incident report from the Arlington County Police Department.

“When an employee of the business confronted the suspects, they threw rocks at him,” the report says. “A physical altercation ensued … during which Suspect One struck him with a sharp object, resulting in lacerations, and Suspect Two prevented him from leaving the area.”

Initial reports suggest the victim was a tow truck driver. The incident was reported at N. Quincy Street and 5th Road N., near the Advanced Towing lot.

The employee was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries. One of the suspects allegedly fled the scene, but police searched the area and made two arrests shortly after the incident.

One suspect faces charges of malicious wounding by mob, assault and battery and public intoxication, while the other is charged with malicious wounding by mob and abduction.
