The Wakefield Warriors haven’t had much luck against the Westfield Bulldogs in recent seasons, and this year was no different.
Wakefield was blanked by host Westfield, 63-0, the night of Oct. 4 in a non-district high-school football game. The Warriors fell to 2-4.
Westfield, a perennial 6D North Region power, improved to 4-1 with its fourth straight victory.
Wakefield has never defeated the Bulldogs in six meetings.
For Wakefield in the loss, the Warriors gained 175 total yards, of which 126 were rushing, and were hurt by six turnovers and five interceptions.
Isiah Ledbetter had long runs of 28 and 10 yards to lead the team in rushing.
Wakefield quarterback Judah Connor completed passes to Andrew Mason and Matthew Johnson for significant gains and first downs.
Of Westfield’s 402 total yards, 306 were rushing.
