Arlington high school sports schedule for Oct. 25-31

Arlington high schools have a full week of sports ahead, including many playoff events.

There will be just one high-school football game Friday night (Oct. 25)  involving an Arlington team, because the Wakefield Warriors and Yorktown Patriots have byes this week.

Other events include the Oct. 25 Liberty District girls field-hockey tournament championship match and the Virginia High School League’s Girls State Open golf tournament, in which two Arlington players earned berths.

FRIDAY, OCT. 25

Football

• McLean at Washington-Liberty, 7 p.m.

Field Hockey

Yorktown vs. Washington-Liberty in district-tournament final, 7 p.m.

Boys Soccer

• Collegiate at Bishop O’Connell,  3 p.m.

SATURDAY, OCT. 26

Football

• Carroll at Bishop O’Connell, 1 p.m.

Cross Country

• Bishop O’Connell at Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship meet at Kenilworth Park in D.C, 11:30 a.m.

Cheerleading

• 6D North Region championships at Centreville High School, 12:30 p.m.

MONDAY, OCT. 28

Golf

• Girls State Open in Harrisonburg, 9 a.m.

Boys Soccer

• Bishop O’Connell in Washington Catholic Athletic Conference tournament, TBA

Girls Volleyball

• Liberty District tournament first-round matches at top seeds, 7 p.m.

TUESDAY, OCT. 29

Ultimate Frisbee

• Career Center at Yorktown girls, 6 p.m.
• Career Center at Yorktown boys, 7 p.m.
