Alonso Abugattas will discuss the role of the Long Branch Nature Center in trying to capture Robert Hanssen, the FBI agent who spied for Soviet and Russian intelligence services against the United States from 1979 to 2001. His espionage represented one of the worst intelligence disasters in U.S. history and he used the park’s amphitheater as one of his drop spots for selling U.S. secrets and betraying U.S. agents abroad.
