Labor Day brings free parking, closed county offices to Arlington on Monday

Numerous county programs will be closed or operating on modified schedules for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 1.

Arlington Public Library locations will be closed, and so will all community centers except for Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center, which is open from 6 a.m.-2 p.m.

Parking meters will not be enforced.

Recycling and trash will still get picked up, but the Earth Products Yard and the county’s collection center for electronics and household hazardous materials are closed starting tomorrow (Saturday).

ART buses will operate on their holiday schedule, and Metro service will run on a Sunday schedule.

Courts and judicial services are closed. So is DMV Select at the Bozman Government Center, the Arlington Treasurer’s Office and Arlington Cultural Affairs buildings at Scenery Studio, LAC Studios and 3700 S. Four Mile Run Drive.

Arlington Public Schools students are also easing into the school year with a four-day vacation starting today (Friday).
