Encore invites students ages 9-18 to audition for the cast of the show and students ages 12-18 to come out and interview for crew. Auditions will be held within a group, and the production team will be looking for projection, teamwork, and creativity skills. Then, the callback list will be posted shortly after the audition date.
The Lightning Thief follows Percy Jackson, the teenage son of Poseidon, as he embarks on a quest to prove his innocence. When Zeus’s lightning bolt is stolen, Percy becomes the prime suspect due to his father’s rivalry with Zeus. Percy receives a riddle from the Oracle that calls him to retrieve the bolt and prove his innocence. Armed with his newly formed powers, he embarks on a quest alongside his new friends Annabeth and Grover. Not only does he have to retrieve the bolt, but he must travel to the underworld, decode the riddle that warns him of a great betrayal, and come to terms with his father abandoning him. Will he succeed? Or maybe the strength of gods and monsters is enough to thwart Percy Jackson for good.
